Damaged kerbs, drainage and junctions to be improved in Grimsby highway works

• - Armstrong Street between Pyewipe Road and Charlton Street, Grimsby

• - Beeson Street between Armstrong Street and Corporation Road, Grimsby

Works are scheduled to commence on Monday 10 March and be completed on Friday 2 May.

The works will be carried out in two phases, as detailed below:

Phase 1 – Civil works (Monday 10 March – Thursday 10 April)

The first phase of the works will include junction realignment, replacement of existing damaged kerbs, channels and drainage works. These works will be carried out during weekdays under the following traffic management arrangements:

Phase 1A – Armstrong Street between Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street – Northside (Monday 10 March – Thursday 13 March and Thursday 20 March)

All civil works within this section of Armstrong Street will be carried out under a 24-hour narrow lane (Northside). HGV access to GBA Automotive Technical Centre from Armstrong Street will be temporary prohibited. During the works, on street parking will be temporary suspended.

Phase 1B – Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street – Southside (Friday 14 March – Tuesday 18 March and Thursday 20 March)

All civil works within this section of Armstrong Street will be carried out under a 24-hour narrow lane (Southside). HGV access to GBA Automotive Technical Centre from Armstrong Street will be temporary prohibited. During the works, on street parking will be temporary suspended.

Phase 1C – Armstrong Street between Beeson Street and Charlton Junction (Friday 21 March – Wednesday 26 March and Monday 31 March)

All civil works within this section of Armstrong Street will be carried out under a 24-hour narrow lane (Northside). During the works, on street parking will be temporary suspended.

Phase 1D – Junction of Beeson Street and Armstrong Street Junction (Thursday 27 March – Monday 31 March)

All civil works at the junction of Beeson Street will be carried out under a 24-hour road closure between the junction of Beeson Street and 23 Beeson Street. During the works, Beeson Street between 23 Beeson Street and Corporation Road will be temporary 2 way traffic signals to allow residents access.

Phase 1E – Junction of Charlton Street and Armstrong Street Junction (Tuesday 01 April – Thursday 10 April)

All civil works at the junction of Charlton Street will be carried out under a 24-hour road closure at the junction of Charlton Street (North and South of Armstrong Street).

Phase 2 – Carriageway resurfacing and road marking (Monday 14 April – Friday 02 May)

The second phase of the project is carriageway resurfacing and road marking work, which will start on Monday 14 April and is scheduled to be completed on Friday 02 May.

To enable the works to be carried out and to ensure the safety of the contractors, a road closure will be in place. To minimise disruption the work has been split into three sections:

Section 2A – Armstrong Street between Beeson Street and Charlton Street (including both junctions) – Monday 14 April – Friday 18 April

Works to be carried out under full road closure between 7:30am and 6pm from Monday 14 April to Friday 18 April. During the closure, Armstrong Street (between Pyewipe Road and Beeson Street) and Beeson Street (between Armstrong Street and Corporation Street) will be temporary 2-ways to allow resident access. HGV access to GBA Automotive Technical Centre from Armstrong Street will be temporary prohibited. Access to Armstrong Place West and Armstrong Place East will be temporary suspended. On street parking will be temporary suspended for the closure period. Footway access will be maintained at all times.

Section 2B – Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street (excluding Beeson Street junction) – 20 April and 27 April

Works to be carried out under full road closures between 9am and 6pm on two Sundays (20 April and 27 April). HGV access to GBA Automotive Technical Centre from Armstrong Street will be temporary prohibited. On street parking will be temporary suspended for the closure period. Footway access will be maintained at all times.

Section 2C – Beeson Street (between Corporation Road and Beeson Grove)

Works to be carried out under full road closures between 7:30am and 6pm from Monday 28 April to Tuesday 29 April. During the closure, Beeson Street (between Armstrong Street and Beeson Grove) will be temporary 2-ways to allow resident access. On street parking will be temporary suspended for the closure period. Footway access will be maintained at all times.

These works are weather dependant and are subject to change.

The junction of Charlton Street (South of Armstrong Street) will be closed for the duration of the works, and no vehicle access will be permitted within the road closure extents during the road closures. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

During the works, on street parking will be suspended within the closure extents. Please support the contractor by not parking vehicles on the carriageway or footway in the works location to ensure a safe working area can be maintained and to avoid delaying the works programme.
