North East Lincolnshire Council will be carrying out essential improvement works on Victoria Street North near Victoria Retail Park this weekend.

Work is scheduled to begin at 7pm Friday 14 November and is expected to be completed by 4am on Monday 17 November.

Access to businesses is being maintained during opening hours. To access Victoria Street Retail Park, customers will need to use the King Edward Street entrance.

The works will include a full reconstruction of the southbound carriageway outside Victoria Retail Park, as well as resurfacing extending to just short of Lower Spring Street. To complete this safely and efficiently, a 24-hour southbound road closure will be in place between Lower Spring Street and Market Street from 7pm Friday 14 November until 4am Monday 17 November.

In addition, there will be full road closures between Lockhill Roundabout and Market Street on the evenings of Saturday 15 November between 8.30pm and 4.00am, and Sunday 16 November between 5.00pm and 4.00am, to allow for the renewal of road markings.

Please be aware the section on Victoria Street North between Lockhill Roundabout and Lower Spring Street will not be closed until 10:30pm to allow access to Lower Spring Street.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Infrastructure and Transport, said: “We recognise how important this area is for local businesses and shoppers, and we’ve worked closely with businesses to plan these essential works at the most suitable time. By completing the works over one weekend, we aim to minimise disruption while delivering lasting improvements.”

These works have also been carefully coordinated to follow Northern Powergrid’s recent activity in the area, ensuring there is no overlap or conflict between projects.
