Families across Lincoln are invited to step into a world of spooky fun as the city’s parks come alive with Halloween-themed activities this October half-term.
From creepy trails to creative carving and even a chance to build a home for bats, there’s something for every young thrill-seeking adventurer.
The first of the spooky activities begins on Saturday, 25 October and runs through to Friday, 31 October, with a Halloween Trail at Hartsholme Country Park.
The trail promises chills, surprises and a ghoulish treat for those brave enough to make it to the end.
Trails can be started at any time between 12 noon and 3pm from the Visitor Centre in the park. The cost is £4 per child.
On Wednesday, 29 October, the fun continues with not one but two pumpkin-carving sessions. One at Lincoln Arboretum and another at Hartsholme Country Park, so families across the city have the chance to join in, no matter where they’re based.
The morning session begins at Lincoln Arboretum from 10am to 11:30am, where children can join the Park Rangers at the Bandstand to create their own Jack-o’-lanterns.
In the afternoon, the spooky creativity moves to Hartsholme Country Park, with a second session running from 1pm to 2:30pm outside the Visitor Centre. Both sessions are £4 per child, and booking is essential.
Thursday, 30 October, offers even more hands-on Halloween activities. At 10am, families can gather at the Bowls Pavilion in Boultham Park for another chance to carve pumpkins and make their own lantern creations.
Later that day at Hartsholme Country Park, from 1pm to 2:30pm, there will be a special bat box making workshop in celebration of Bat Week. For £7.50 per child, participants will not only learn about these fascinating creatures but will also create a bat box to take home, offering a safe haven for bats in their own gardens.
