New computer software allowing live data reporting on children’s social care cases is being trialled for the first time in North East Lincolnshire.

Officers at North East Lincolnshire Council are to benefit from the new Liquidlogic children’s social care system, provided by social care software specialist, System C.

The new Liquidlogic system will allow social workers and managers in the Council’s children’s services to see ‘live’ information about safeguarding cases that are being raised and identify any recurring trends within records.

The tech will see the previous overnight reporting replaced with a new system offering reports delayed by just 15-minutes.

Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for children and education at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:

“Councils up and down the country are looking more and more at how they can use technology innovatively to improve the speed of straightforward processes, and I’m pleased to say that our services for children and families is set to benefit from such an innovation.

“I’m hopeful that this system will have a significant impact in supporting our social workers in keeping our local children, young people and their families safe.”

Director of children’s services, Ann-Marie Matson, said the change would make significant differences to the lives of children and families in our area:

“Our IT officers have worked tirelessly with our social care reporting system, Liquidlogic, to produce a service that they did not previously offer.

“In the long term, having up to date reports at our fingertips will mean that we can identify any emerging issues facing our local children and young people, and see a snapshot of our workload, meaning that we can make faster decisions.”

Amrik Johal, Managing Director for Social Care and Education at System C, said:

"Liquidlogic is at the forefront of child social work technology. Our system, developed by and for practitioners, supports every aspect of care delivery, from case management to record-keeping.

“By embracing digital solutions, North East Lincolnshire Council is demonstrating a commitment to innovation and improved outcomes for children. We are proud to be its partner on this journey."

The new system went live earlier today.
