Families are promised an exciting summer in the city, with just days to go until a “star attraction” returns to the heart of Lincoln!
It’s time to get out the children’s buckets and spades, sunhats and sun cream, because The Beach will be back on The Cornhill on July 23, where it will stay until September 3.
Tons of golden sand is on order, brightly coloured deckchairs have been reserved, a fun roundabout is on its way and everyone’s favourite duo – Punch & Judy – can’t wait to get in on the act!
Families can catch-up with the antics of Mr Punch, Judy and their baby during beachside performances on July 24, 26 and 31 and on August 2, 9, 16, 21 and 23.
The Beach is also close to plenty of shops and cafes, so no-one need go without their ice creams, lollies, sweet treats and snacks.
And there are lots more fun activities to look forward to as well. This year, Lincoln is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force (RAF100), so Lincoln BIG is taking over the Cornhill Kiosk for the duration of The Beach – and we’re calling it Flight Central!
It’s sure to be popular with parents and youngsters alike, because children can be booked-in for all sorts of fun sessions, including the chance to get stuck into arts and crafts.
Excitingly, Lincoln Loves Kids will also launch its 2018 printed guide on August 4, which is National Sandcastle Day, so look out for familiar faces from Lincoln Mums, Visit Lincoln and the Lincs FM team – and another favourite the giant Lincoln Loves Kids! fluffy duck.
This year the fun will extend to City Square too, where there’s lots more to look forward to.
Look out for the Children’s Cave on July 28, RAF100 Duck Races on August 1 and Bungee Trampolining on August 7.
Another attraction that’s bound to be popular is the climbing wall, which is being installed in the square on August 25.
