New racecourse playground to open on Easter Monday

The Easter Monday Extravaganza at Market Rasen Racecourse sees the grand opening of a new playground with an array of equipment suitable for all youngsters.

The bank holiday meeting on 2nd April – supported by BDN Construction – features bags of free children’s entertainment combined with exciting jump racing to ensure everyone is on to a winner.

There will be a spectacular inflatable carnival for children, an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes for all ages and a race for kids on the track. Add to that funfair rides, pony rides, face painting and horseplay games.

A special family pass is on offer which includes two Tattersalls Enclosure tickets for adults, four children admitted free, two race-day programmes and a party bag – all for just £25.

The fun starts from 12:15pm, with the first race at 2:15pm and the last race at 5:40pm. Entertainment is free of charge – as is admission for accompanied under 18s.

Grown-ups can book a table for the afternoon in the Brocklesby Suite Restaurant, with views across the racecourse. Prices start from £55 for a two-course meal including County Enclosure admission, a race-card each and a table for the day.

Best of all, under 12s eat free alongside an adult advanced booking.

Alternatively, visitors can bring their own picnic into the Lawn Enclosure, the Lawn Enclosure picnic car park or the Willingham Road picnic car park. It’s £5 per car or £10 for minibuses, plus Lawn Enclosure admission per adult occupant. This option is only available to purchase on the day.

Young adults, aged 18 to 24 years, can get half-price admission by registering at RacePass18to24.co.uk to receive a free RacePass membership card.

All three enclosures – County, Tattersalls and Lawn – will be open on Easter Monday, offering visitors a choice of where to watch the races and enjoy refreshments. Adult tickets start at £9 when bought in advance.

The County Enclosure has several bars and places to eat in a friendly atmosphere, including the County Bar or Brocklesby Suite Restaurant.

Within the Tattersalls Enclosure, visitors watch the horses as they parade and get up close to the winners. There are various bars and eateries, including the tote Exacta Bar and Red Rum Bar.
