Taking a trip into town? On your way to work? Or just taking the family for a day out?

Take the bus this September to support #CatchTheBusMonth. North East Lincolnshire has a number of bus routes to give residents and visitors accessibility across the borough.

Provided by Stagecoach East Midlands, there are routes through Immingham, Grimsby and Cleethorpes to get you anywhere you want to go.

This year, Catch The Bus Month is aiming to get as many people on board as possible. So why not change the car for the bus and help the environment at the same time as supporting public transport.

To make things even better, currently, for just £1 you can get anywhere in the borough. The capped fare tickets are available after 6pm Monday to Friday and all-day weekends and bank holidays.

Speaking about the initiative, Councillor Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Infrastructure and Transport, said: “The buses are a great asset to the borough.

“They provide a sense of freedom for a number of residents and are the perfect opportunity to get around town at very little cost.

“Additionally, the more people are using the buses the better it is for the environment. We can reduce our carbon footprint and congestion all at the same time. Make sure to utilise the offers in place and make the most of Catch The Bus Month.”

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Midlands, said: "We are proud to serve North East Lincolnshire, and we are continually looking at further ways to improve the public transport options available.

“We have recently improved the frequency of some services in the area, as a result of feedback received from our customers, and we are seeing an encouraging increase in journeys in the evenings, thanks to the £1 flat fare offer after 6pm.

“Stagecoach fully supports Catch the Bus Month for many reasons, including the great opportunity for those to save money on parking and petrol costs, whilst enabling people to do their bit for the environment."
