Essential carriageway resurfacing, vegetation clearance, refreshing of existing road markings and minor civil works are due to commence on A46 Grimsby Road between Cottagers Plot roundabout (Morrisons) and Laceby Crossroads roundabout (Oaklands), Grimsby. The works will be undertaken overnight between Monday 28 July and Thursday 31 July 2025.

To enable the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of the contractors, a full road closure will be in place between Laceby Crossroads roundabout and Marshall BMW Grimsby on Grimsby Road each night between 7.00pm and 5.00am. No vehicular access will be permitted during the road closure times.

The section between Marshall BMW Grimsby and Cottagers Plot roundabout will have a lane closure from 7pm to 10.30pm each night to ensure vehicle access is still available, and a full road closure will be in place from 10.30pm until 5am.

The Number 4 bus will only run to Morrisons and will terminate there after 7pm while the works are ongoing. The 250 & 53 services are not impacted by the works but they are diverted via Butt Lane.

Cottagers Plot roundabout will be closed between 11:30pm and 5am each night. Residents access to Maltby Avenue and staff & delivery access (to Morrisons and other businesses) from the Grimsby direction ONLY will be maintained and controlled by marshals. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

During the works, on street parking will be suspended within the closure extents.

The council and contractors WJ North Ltd and EC Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
