If you’re under 19, how do you fancy getting around North East Lincolnshire for just £1.50 a day during half term?
You can buy the Holiday Rider ticket (all day travel ticket) on board any Stagecoach bus, online or on the Stagecoach app right the way through half term period from Saturday 25 May 2024 until Sunday 2 June 2024.
The ticket can be used on all Stagecoach buses in the North East Lincolnshire borough.
That means you could go to the beach at Cleethorpes or visit the Nature Discovery Day at the Humberston Fitties, or check out the fantastic “Our Future Starts Here” programme of events, live music, workshops and debates in Grimsby. Or for the more arty amongst you, how about a visit to the Artisan Market in Bradley or the Craft Fair in Cleethorpes?
For a list of things to do, you could visit www.DiscoverNorthEastLincolnshire.co.uk and check out the events list.
The Holiday Rider scheme first launched in 2012 and during that summer over 21,630 tickets were sold, equating to a magnificent saving of £30,282 for young people.
This initiative is funded by the Department for Transport under the Bus Service Improvement Plan. This ticket is available for a limited time only, subject to uptake on these tickets as well as funding.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Transport, commented “The Holiday Rider makes travel more affordable for young adults during the holidays, allowing them to spend less on travel and more on their activities planned instead. We are constantly trying to provide better and cheaper bus fare options for people in the borough. Travelling by bus does not only help reduce congestion around the town, but it’s also a sustainable method of transport that emits lower carbon emissions compared to standard cars.”
