Tree lovers have the chance to plant 1,000 trees thanks to a new ticket holder offer from South Kesteven District Council’s community lottery, LotterySK.

Every monthly Super Draw, open to all ticket holders, offers the winner a ‘green’ prize alternative of planting 1,000 trees, with projects available all around the world thanks to a partnership with leading tree planting organisation Treeapp.

April’s Super Draw offers the chance to win a luxurious city break to either hit the West End for a weekend, see Barcelona, sample Florence, or soak up the culture in Paris.

It’s open to anyone who has a current lottery ticket before the draw on Saturday 26th April.

LotterySK has just celebrated another local £250 winner – this time a supporter of Stamford’s Malcolm Sargent School Parent Teacher Friends Association.

It’s one of 126 nominated local groups and community causes earning money from Lottery thanks to tickets bought by their supporters.

An SKDC spokesperson said: “Our LotterySK is a win-win for both ticket holders and the causes they support. We are delighted that we can now offer an extremely attractive green Super Draw option, and as a council we wholeheartedly support the idea of tree planting.”

Ticket holders have the chance of a £25,000 top prize in every LotterySK weekly draw. Nominated good causes receive 50p for every £1 ticket sold.

Another 10p from each ticket sale goes to the SK Community Fund, meaning that 60% of each ticket sale goes to support good causes in South Kesteven. Each ticket has a one in 50 chance of winning.

To buy tickets, or register as a good cause, go to www.lotterysk.co.uk where there is also information and advice for groups wanting help on how to encourage ticket sales.
