Dare you enter the Tip of Terror? Staff at the award-winning Grimsby Community Recycling Centre (CRC) have a few tricks and treats up their sleeve as they’ve given the site a monstrous makeover for Halloween.

From spooky spiders to a ghoulish guillotine and tyre tarantulas to a ghostly galleon, the tip is creeping and crawling with their haunted handiwork.

The team at the tip are seasoned pros at upcycling and crafting decorations out of things people throwaway, you might have seen their hugely popular Christmas spectaculars or last year’s Euro’s celebrations.

Grimsby and Immingham CRCs are open every day barring Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day from 8am to 6pm. Both sites are run by North East Lincolnshire Council’s waste management contractor Newlincs Development Ltd.

Grimsby CRC is in Estuary Way, Grimsby DN31 2UD. Immingham CRC is in Queens Road, Immingham DN40 1QR.

Cllr Henry Hudson, portfolio holder for Environment and Net Zero at the Council, said:

“The award-winning staff at Grimsby and Immingham tips do a brilliant job and always raise a smile when there’s something to celebrate.

“Anyone who has visited Grimsby Tip will see the lengths they go to to make the site a fun place to recycle things you don’t need.

“There are also plenty of bargains on offer with their bike and bric-a-brac sales, with all the proceeds going to good causes.”
