Spring into action this Easter with a line-up of family-friendly activities. With something for everyone, from creative crafts to exciting outdoor adventures, there’s no better way to celebrate.

Families across Lincoln are invited to enjoy a wide-ranging programme of seasonal events and activities this Easter half-term, taking place in three of the city’s much-loved green spaces: Hartsholme Country Park, Boultham Park, and The Arboretum.

With a mix of creative workshops, outdoor learning, and traditional Easter fun, the week offers something for children of all ages to enjoy while making the most of the springtime surroundings.

Kicking off the programme are a series of Easter craft sessions, where children can unleash their creativity and make their very own Easter tree to brighten up the home.

These sessions will run on Tuesday 8 April at Boultham Park from 10:00am to 11:30am, and again at Hartsholme Country Park from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. A final session will take place at The Arboretum on Thursday 10 April from 10:00am to 11:30am.

Also on Thursday 10 April, children can try their hand at kite making at Hartsholme Country Park, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. This activity encourages both creativity and active play, as participants design and fly their own handmade kites in the open space of the park.

For those looking to explore traditional outdoor skills, a whittling workshop will take place on Wednesday 16 April from 10:00am to 11:30am at Boultham Park.

Guided by experienced park rangers, children will learn safe carving techniques and have the chance to create a simple wooden item to take home.

Later that same day, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, Hartsholme Country Park will host a bottle rocket workshop, where participants can build and launch their own water-powered rockets in a fun and educational session exploring the science of flight.

All activity sessions are priced at £4.00 per child, and advance booking is essential. To reserve a place, please contact the Hartsholme Country Park team by emailing hartsholmecp@lincoln.gov.uk or calling 01522 873735.

In addition to the scheduled workshops, families can enjoy a traditional Easter Egg Hunt at Hartsholme Country Park, running from Friday 18 April to Sunday 20 April between 12:00 noon and 3:00pm each day.

Children will follow a trail of clues left by the Easter Bunny, leading to a delicious Easter treat at the end of their adventure.

No booking is required for this event, but a £4.00 fee per child applies.

This Easter half-term offers a fantastic opportunity to explore Lincoln’s parks, take part in hands-on activities, and enjoy the outdoors as a family.
