Farmers and land managers across North East Lincolnshire who are looking to make their land more sustainable are invited to an engagement event later this month.

The Responsible Authority for the Greater Lincolnshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) will be hosting the event at Doddington Hall on October 30 2024, beginning at 12.30pm with a light bite.

Across England, in 48 LNRS areas, including Greater Lincolnshire, a wide range of local people, businesses and organisations are working together to identify local priorities and opportunities for nature recovery.

LNRS’s have been introduced by central government as part of their commitment to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2030, and achieve the statutory targets set out in the Environmental Improvement Plan 2023. Lincolnshire County Council is working with North East Lincolnshire Council, North Lincolnshire Council and the Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership to produce the strategy for the area.

This event for farmers and land managers will discuss a range of issues, including:

  • landscape-scale opportunities and obstacles

  • sustainable, collaborative land management and food production

  • profitable nature-friendly farming practices

  • the latest on funding and other incentives

  • current examples of biodiversity-enhancing farming that works.
