The Council’s tourism team at Discover North East Lincolnshire have compiled a handy list of fantastic things to do right across the borough. From places to go and things to do as well as events and activities this Autumn, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s a selection of what’s on offer, and there are lots more to discover!
Frightful family fun
- Pick your own pumpkin– Come and get your own pumpkin ready for carving from Nunny’s Farm, Grimsby. Open to the public from Saturday, 12 October, from 10am. There’s also pumpkin picking at Peaks Top Farm Waltham from Saturday 19 October.
- Halloween fun chocolate making – Come and get messy with chocolate at Duffy’s Chocolate of Cleethorpes. Children can make a chocolate lolly or decorate a giant marshmallow. If that doesn’t take your fancy, you can come and watch their award-winning chocolate being made and packaged up. To book, click here.
- Halloween dance trail - Are you ready for a fa-boo-lous half term and Halloween? The Love Exploring App has the special Halloween dance trail which will go live from Monday 21 October just in time for some free half term fun. Grab the kids and have fun searching for augmented reality characters including scary skeletons, mummies and zombies. It’s perfect for getting out and about in Cleethorpes, Grimsby and Immingham. Remember, remember the 5th November
- Cleethorpes Cricket Club – Come along on Friday, 1 November, grab yourself something to eat and watch the fireworks light up the night sky. Tickets are £6.50 (plus £1 for online sales) with under 3s going free. To make sure you don’t miss out, click here.
- Waltham Windmill’s firework event – Come and watch a firework extravaganza with the backdrop of one of the borough’s most iconic landmarks. The event will be held on Saturday, 2 November, with more details to follow.
- Grimsby Town Cricket Club – Enjoy a night of entertainment and live acts with a range of food and drink at Grimsby Cricket Club on Friday, 8 November. Tickets bought in advance are £5 for members, £6 for non-members or you can pay on the gate at a cost of £8 with under 3s going free.
Halloween is not just for kids
- Docks Beers Halloween Night – Party like it’s the 80s and 90s at Docks Academy on Saturday, 26 October. With live music from bands and DJ sets, it’s a great place for a night out and make sure to wear your spookiest outfit with prizes for the best one. The event is for over 18s only with tickets costing £7.50 plus fees. To book your place, click here.
- Cirque Du Slay – If you’re in the mood for getting scared, this is one not to miss. Book yourself on to the CineShow’s immersive Halloween experience on Saturday, 19 October, at Grimsby Central Hall. Tickets start at £19 and can be booked here.
- Autumn Wreath Making with Sea Holly Floral – bring autumn into your home at this seasonal workshop at Healing Manor on Sunday 13 October 1-4. To book, click here.
Autumn foodie delights
- Edible Grimsby - This event will be held on Saturday 5 October in St James Square, Grimsby. Open from 11am, celebrate growing, cooking and sharing food with food tastings, live performances, food and drink stalls and craft market.
- Healing Manor's Halloween Supper Club & Monsters Ball - Enjoy a spooky supper at Healing Manor’s Halloween Supper Club & Monsters Ball held in the atmospheric surroundings of the candle-lit barn, on Friday 25 October 2024. For more information, click here.
- Halloween inspired afternoon tea – Enjoy a scary scone with blood red jam at the Nottingham House Hotel in Cleethorpes. Served from Monday 28 October to Saturday 2 November.
