Lincolnshire Showground to host nearly 1,000 pupils for a two-day celebration of heritage, food, farming and countryside education.

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society is proud to announce the return of its annual Lincolnshire Day celebration, taking place at the Lincolnshire Showground on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October 2025.

Lincolnshire Day marks the anniversary of the county’s stand against the centralisation of power during the Lincolnshire Rising of 1536. It is a day to honour the county’s identity, heritage and resilience. At the Lincolnshire Showground, we celebrate this important occasion by bringing together schools, communities and local organisations to inspire pride in our county and educate the next generation.

This year, the event will welcome 18 schools and nearly 1,000 Key Stage 2 pupils for two days of immersive, hands-on learning. The programme is designed to keep the history of Lincolnshire alive while offering children a unique out-of-classroom learning experience focused on food, farming and the countryside.

Paula Cragg, Education Executive at Lincolnshire Showground, said:

“Lincolnshire Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes our county unique. By engaging children in fun, educational activities, we hope to spark curiosity and pride in Lincolnshire’s history, culture and future.”

Organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity dedicated to educating the public on food, farming and the environment, Lincolnshire Day is part of a year-round programme of educational events hosted at the Showground.
