Film fans can see two family favourites when outdoor cinema comes to Grantham town centre.

Paddington In Peru will be shown in the Market Place at 1pm on Sunday 7th September and Despicable Me 4 at 5.30pm the same day.

Outdoor cinema is among new activities and events taking place in a rejuvenated and revamped Market Place, so why not pack your marmalade sandwiches and join the fun?

Refreshments and treats familiar to cinema-goers will be available to buy in the Market Place.

Cllr Paul Stokes, SKDC’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said: “I can think of no better way to watch two box office hits than in the open air.

“Come and join the fun and be a part of our efforts to restore Grantham Market to the heart of our community.”

As part the £4.19m Market Place revamp, funded from the Government's Future High Streets Fund, the road height was raised to create a single-level open space, enabling it to host regular town centre events.

Paddington In Peru grossed £9.65m in the UK Box Office in its first three days of release alone. When Paddington discovers his beloved aunt has gone missing from the Home for Retired Bears, he and the Brown family head to the jungles of Peru to find her.

In the latest installment, with the arrival of a new baby in Despicable Me 4, Gru's life is great — until an old rival comes back for revenge and forces Gru to uproot his family and Minions.
