There is entertainment for the whole family at Cornhill Market throughout February including pop-up stalls, a vintage clothing market and an interactive musical light show in City Square.

In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, visitors are being invited to share their love for their partner, friends, family or even their favourite market stall by writing a love note and posting it on a special notice board.

To help shoppers find the perfect present, many of the stalls are offering Valentine-themed products and promotions, and there will also be pop-ups selling balloons, cards and gifts which can be pre-ordered in time for the big day.

During half term the market will be open every day from 9am until 7pm (11am till 7pm on Sunday), and until 9.30pm on 20th and 21st February for the Lincoln Lights festival which will illuminate the city from Cornhill to Castle with a free interactive light show.

Between 5.30pm and 9.30pm City Square will be transformed into a musical wonderland for children and adults to enjoy. They’ll be able to hop onto one of six interactive swings and glide back and forth while creating their own musical masterpiece. Each swing controls a different element from percussion, bassline and melody, and each movement contributes to the symphony alongside a dynamic light show.

Also during half term, from 28th February to 2nd March, Rock Retro Lincoln will be running a vintage clothing pop-up in Cornhill Market selling 80s to Y2K brands, designer and streetwear and lots more sustainable fashion.

Market Manager Rebecca Tayor said: “We’re looking forward to a jam-packed February with something for the whole family to enjoy, culminating in an incredible interactive music and light show which we’re really excited about.

“Cornhill Market is home to some brilliant independent businesses from jewellers to gelaterias, and during February they’ll be joined by pop-up stalls including Rock Retro Lincoln which is always hugely popular.

“So, whether you are looking for a unique gift for Valentine’s Day or free family entertainment during half-term, a visit to the market will not disappoint.”
