A programme of exciting activities is on offer for families to celebrate love and friendship this half-term at the Wyndham Park Visitor Centre in Grantham.

Free craft sessions will run from Tuesday 18th February to 21st February between 11am and 3pm.

The sessions are designed for the whole family to enjoy a range of cardmaking, colouring and crafts.

Cllr Paul Stokes, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said: “We’re delighted to welcome families into Wyndham Park Visitor Centre with a range of exciting activities on offer this half-term.

“Our Visitor Centre welcomes hundreds of visitors every month with people choosing our award-winning park to exercise, socialise and enjoy the great outdoors.”

The Centre hosts regular sessions such as a monthly Book Club, visits from Lincolnshire Police Community Support Officers and guided Walk and Talk tours of the park.

Lincolnshire Sensory Services provide a monthly hearing aid repairs and maintenance drop-in session. They can provide replacement batteries, tubing and advice on hearing aids and listening support equipment.

The Centre is also being offered as a free Warm Space until March 2025. Visitors can stay for as little or as long as they need to between 11am and 3pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Visitors can choose to take part in scheduled sessions or play board games, jigsaws or bring their own activity to play with others, including 15 friendly volunteers who give their time to support the park.

In 2024, volunteers contributed over 3,500 hours towards the Visitor Centre, supporting with maintenance, gardening, events and engaging with the public.

“The volunteer team at the Visitor Centre continues to grow with new opportunities to suit all ages, abilities and interests.

“Whether you can spare a couple of hours or days a week, volunteering is a fantastic way to learn and develop new skills, meet new people and give something back to your local community.” Cllr Stokes said.

Those interested in volunteering at the park can email parksteam@southkesteven.gov.uk for more information.
