Last week, foster families from across the region came together for a summer celebration, made possible by the incredible support of local businesses and community partners.

Hosted at Signhills Academy, the event was a joyful occasion bringing the fostering community together. Families enjoyed a fun-filled day with fun inflatables face painting, a photobooth, outdoor games, and even a skatepark.

Live music from talented local artists Sam Simmons and Rob Bywater created a memorable soundtrack for the day and had everyone dancing and singing along.

The event was made even more special thanks to the generosity of several Foster Friendly businesses:

  • Cooky Cooks and Brett and Mandi Smith from the Anti Pasti Caterer and Oof Eggs provided a delicious spread that kept everyone well-fed.
  • John from JE Inflatables for the bouncy castles and ice creams for all.
  • Country Style Foods supplied fresh bread buns to accompany the BBQ.
  • Harrisons Ice Cream Van was a hit with children and adults alike, offering sweet treats throughout the day.
  • Signhills Academy not only hosted the event but also loaned tables and chairs, helping create a welcoming space for all.

A foster carer for North East Lincolnshire council attended the event said:

“We loved coming to the event and the children especially loved the facepainting and the photobooth. To be around other local fostering families for a lovely day was special and the support from local businesses meant the world.”

“This event was a wonderful reminder of the power of community,” said Councillor Margaret Cracknell, Portfolio Holder for Children and Education. “We’re incredibly grateful to our Foster Friendly businesses for their continued support and commitment to making foster families feel valued and celebrated.”
