Lincolnshire’s ‘hidden gem’ has been in the Willoughby de Eresby family for over 500 years. With a remarkable collection of art, tapestries and furniture, as well as beautiful gardens, a lake, an adventure playground and over 3000 acres of parkland to explore, here are our top 5 reasons a trip to Grimsthorpe Castle, Park and Gardens this summer is a must…

1. Entertain the Kids The park is a haven for families looking to keep the kids entertained this summer. With so much parkland to explore, boredom is simply not an option. The Woodland Adventure Playground is perfect for budding adventurers, featuring swings, zip wires, climbing trails, and more. On selected dates in the summer holidays (5 May, 29, 30 July, 26, 27 August), Grimsthorpe will host their resident storyteller, Mark, who captivates children with his original tales and classic folk stories. Or a more active outing, why not take the kids for a bike ride around the lake?

2. Enjoy Outdoor Entertainment The summer line-up includes an array of car shows, festivals, concerts and outdoor cinema events that cater to all tastes. Highlights include:

3. Embrace the Regency Era with Bridgerton Grimsthorpe Castle was a key filming location for Season 3 of Bridgerton! Scenes were shot of the impressive frontage of the property but also inside the Vanbrugh Hall. So why not release your inner wallflower and become belle of the ball for the day?

4. Experience Luxury with a Shepherd Hut For the ultimate day out, hire one of three tranquil Shepherd Huts. Nestled in secluded spots overlooking the parkland, these huts offer a home-away-from-home experience. For £60, two people get all-day hire (10am-4.30pm) of a hut, accommodating up to four people, plus Park & Gardens admission. Enjoy a BBQ with provided charcoal, relax on cushions and blankets, play board games, or cosy up by the log burner. Pre-order a picnic hamper for a hassle-free day, delivered on arrival.

5. Take home a Taste of Lincolnshire at the Grimsthorpe Farm Shop Located in the courtyard before the park entrance and offering free parking, selling local produce, including venison and game from Grimsthorpe Estate. No park tickets are required to visit, making it accessible for locals and visitors alike.

Buy a Season Ticket for 2025 to enjoy all Grimsthorpe has to offer, including unlimited entry, a free visit to local Sacrewell Farm, and money off select events at Grimsthorpe.

Open 5 days a week, Sunday to Thursday, from Thursday 1 May to the end of September.
