Libraries across the country are playing a key role in the campaign, working with local authorities, community organisations and businesses to inspire people of all ages to discover the benefits of reading.
To support the initiative in Lincolnshire, the bus operators have kindly donated space on board their buses to promote reading, helping Lincolnshire Libraries reach thousands of passengers across the county and encouraging them to make the most of their local library.
The campaign highlights the wide range of free digital services available through Lincolnshire Libraries, such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers.
Just over 200 buses across the county will carry the posters through various times of the year.
Nicola Rogers, Library Partnership Manager, said: “A bus journey is the perfect place to get stuck into a good read rather than endlessly scrolling through your phone, so having our posters front and centre on local transport is fantastic. Our services are available to everyone, and we’re grateful to Brylaine, The Sleafordian, P.C. Coaches, and the County Council’s CallConnect team for supporting this important community campaign.
“Whatever you’re into, whatever your passion, you’ll find your local library is the perfect place to learn more about it. So why not pop into your nearest library and explore the wealth of opportunities to learn, get excited and have fun.”

Marrianne Garbutt, Managing Director of Brylaine, said: "We're delighted to be supporting Lincolnshire Libraries and helping promote the Year of Reading 2026 across our network. Buses are all about connecting people, and libraries do exactly the same thing in their own way. Whether it's learning something new or simply enjoying a good book, libraries offer so much to our communities.
“If our buses can help encourage even a few more people to make use of the fantastic free resources available through Lincolnshire Libraries, then that's something we're very pleased to be part of."
Hannah Mountcastle, Director, The Sleafordian, said, “We're pleased to support Lincolnshire Libraries and help promote the fantastic range of free digital resources available to local residents.”
Stephen Bryce, Managing Director of P. C. Coaches, said, "As a proud Lincolnshire business, we are delighted to support Lincolnshire Libraries and the National Year of Reading 2026. Every day our buses connect thousands of people with education, employment, healthcare and leisure opportunities across the county, so helping to promote reading and lifelong learning is a natural fit.
“Whether it's enjoying a book on the journey to work, listening to an audiobook whilst travelling, or discovering the fantastic free digital resources available through our local libraries, we hope this campaign encourages more people to make reading part of their daily lives."
Stuart Eccles, Transport Network Design Manager Lincolnshire County Council, said, “Reading and bus travel are a natural fit, which is why we are happy to support the National Year of Reading through our services.”
