There’s tanks and vehicles to visit and sit in at Meridian Showground, and there’s stands and fairground rides to have a go at in the Boating Lake and on Lower Kingsway.
For those who aren’t afraid of heights, why not have a trip on the Big Wheel – if it’s a clear day, from the top you can see for miles!
Do you have any budding artists in your family or community who would like to show their support? Why not print off one of our colouring-in sheets and display it in your window? You could even post a photo of your masterpieces on social media and tag our Armed Forces day account!
If you want to do something at home with your children either ahead of the weekend, or just to get involved early, there’s a series of colouring in activities now available from the Armed Forces website, www.afmet.co.uk.
You can make your own bunting, and put it up in your windows to show support. Or you could even colour in and cut out your own Blighty Bear, the Armed Forces mascot, who’s been on lots of travels this year and will be wandering around over the weekend to say hello to children and those young at heart too!
There’s lots of other learning resources, including digital tours, on the MOD’s website, www.armedforcesday.org.uk.
To keep up to date on the details of the weekend as they are announced, visit www.armedforcesnortheastlincolnshire.co.uk or the Armed Forces Cleethorpes Facebook page.
