Parents of children currently in Year 6 at primary school are being reminded that they need to apply for their child’s place at secondary school as soon as possible.

The deadline for the first-round allocation of school places is Friday 31 October 2025.

Parents who have already submitted an application for their child will receive notification of their secondary school place on National Offer Day, Monday 2 March 2026.

If you have not yet applied, you will need to make your application as soon as possible, before midnight on Friday 31 October.

Parents of children with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) do not need to apply through this process.

Parents and carers must apply to the local authority in which their child lives - even if wanting to apply for a school in another county.

Parents/carers of children residing in North East Lincolnshire are advised to apply online via the “Parent Portal”, which will provide electronic confirmation of your application and email notification of your secondary school place on National Offer Day.

To access the Parent Portal and for information on applying for school places, please visit the School Admission team’s website at: www.nelincs.gov.uk/apply-for-a-school-place.

Parents who have any questions about the process are encouraged to get in touch with the School Admissions team at North East Lincolnshire Council on: schooladmissions@nelincs.gov.uk.
