Lincs Inspire Libraries are letting grown-ups in on the literary fun this summer with a Book Bingo challenge aimed at expanding the reading horizons of adult borrowers.

This summer Lincs Inspire Libraries are encouraging adult readers to sign up for Summer Reading Bingo, a fun challenge that runs alongside a reading bingo game for children. The Book Bingo games aim to inspire everyone in North East Lincolnshire to discover new authors, try new genres and to read more this summer.

There are prizes to be won and a bingo card to check off!

Derek O’Connell, development manager for Lincs Inspire Libraries, said: “We know how much kids love the annual summer reading schemes, so we thought we’d get adults involved in the summer tradition as well.

“The simple book bingo cards will encourage readers to find new titles they may not have considered before. And nothing is quite as satisfying as being able to physically check off a list!”

Bingo cards are available from Lincs Inspire Library branches from Tuesday, July 1st. Readers will be entered into a prize draw for cash prizes, one entry for each bingo line completed, or five entries for a full house.

Categories on the bingo card include books ‘set in the past’ and ‘whodunnit?’ novels, along with more general themes such as ‘Your Choice’, ‘A Good Cover’, and ‘Holiday Destination’.

Derek added: “Summer is a great time to expand your reading horizons. In addition to diving into feel-good beach reads to take with you on your holiday, you may also want to browse our e-Library for eBooks or eAudiobooks. Books borrowed from our branch libraries or eLibrary all count towards the bingo game.”

Summer Reading Bingo is open to all aged over 16 years and ends on 30th September. Get started at Cleethorpes, Immingham or Waltham Libraries. Anyone who is not yet a library member can register for a library card, either online or in a library.
