Residents of North East Lincolnshire are being asked to share their experiences of services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the area.

The SEND Annual survey helps North East Lincolnshire Council to see what is working and how services can improve to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs, and their families.

The survey, launched today for six weeks, asks a broad range of questions about peoples’ experience of our offer and we ask as many of you as possible to take part.

Cllr Margaret Cracknell, Portfolio holder for Children and Education at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “The SEND Annual Survey is a vital way for our services to learn about the experiences of those they support. It asks a broad range of questions about various areas of SEND.

“We hope as many people as possible will respond so we can develop a clearer picture of what is working well, and the ways in which we can improve.

“We encourage parents and carers to capture the views of their children in their responses. There is also a children and young people’s survey that was written with local young people so they can share their views and influence the services that they use.”

You can respond to the survey anonymously or you can leave your contact details so that we can follow up with you about any of the points that you raised.

If you need to speak to someone to give your views or ask any questions or you need a copy of the survey posting to you, you can ring the Engagement team on 01472 324380 or send an email to consultation@nelincs.gov.uk. The survey can be produced in large print upon request.

The survey launches on Monday 9 September and closes on Friday 18 October at midnight.
