Whether you are an amateur woodworker or simply someone who is keen to care for the wood surfaces in your home properly, it’s a shame when water or heat marks have spoilt a piece of furniture. However, restoring the beauty of the surface in question is not difficult, thanks to woodcare expert Liberon.

Firstly, you will need Liberon Ring Remover, which is suitable for use even on highly polished surfaces, including French polishes, lacquers, varnishes and modern hard finishes. Shake the container well before use, then apply it using a clean, lint-free cotton cloth, and rub vigorously over the mark, going with the grain, until the damage is removed. Then buff with a clean, dry cotton cloth. For badly marked surfaces, Liberon Ring Remover may be applied using Ultrafine Steel Wool (grade 0000) and then buffed with a cotton cloth. It’s a good idea to test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for compatibility and end result.

Next, select one of Liberon’s waxes to protect and nourish the wood. Choose from Beeswax, Wax Polish Black Bison Paste or Liming Wax, according to your needs.

Beeswax is used to maintain and protect bare wood surfaces. It absorbs into the wood's fibres and seals it with a long-lasting, durable and natural-looking shine.  Liberon’s Beeswax is a lovely, traditional product with a fabulous aroma that nourishes wood and protects against dryness. It is ideal for absorbent woods such as pine and oak, especially unsealed or for use on items that have been dipped for stripping. It can help bring out the true beauty of wood by forming a rich, glossy coating that cares for your furniture. The surface of the wood will feel silky smooth. It is available in Clear, Antique Pine and Dark Oak.

Liberon’s Wax Polish Black Bison Paste is a solid wax with a modern, hardwearing formulation. It is ideal for nourishing and protecting all types of wood, including lacquers and French polishes. It feeds, polishes, protects and helps prevent wood drying out in addition to helping to cover marks and scratches. It is highly lustrous and hard-wearing, available in 11 colours and is suitable for use on both antique and modern furniture.

Liberon’s Liming Wax is a fantastic, transformative substance that you can use to add a whitewashed look and shine to furniture. It’s great for when you want a vintage or distressed look, but you want to preserve wood’s natural beauty too. Liberon’s Liming Wax is perfect for creating a limed effect for furniture. Use it on oak, elm and other hardwoods plus softwoods too.

Additional waxes are available for creating special effects, including Liberon Black Patinating Wax and Liberon Verdigris Wax.

Using the right top-quality products mean a right-first-time-job you can be proud of. Professional woodworkers stake their reputation on Liberon, which is why you can too.
