Users at the tip brought over 7400 tonnes of recyclables to the Community Recycling Centres in the last 12 months.

In 2025, recycling made up 7418 tonnes from 211,306 cars to the Grimsby and Immingham sites. That’s more than the Eiffel Tower which weighs roughly 7,300 tonnes.

In terms of visiting numbers, it’s clear to see residents took part in a Spring clean with over 20,000 visitors across both tips in March, April and May.

Another popular month was August with over 20,000 visitors as people looked to clear out their homes and sheds ready for Christmas.

Making sure visitors had something to look at whilst at the tip was the hard working staff creating a vast range of displays for Easter, Christmas and much more!

Councillor Henry Hudson, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Net Zero, said: “It’s great to see people using our Community Recycling Centres. The amount recycled is truly staggering, it’s pleasing to see how dedicated we are to making North East Lincolnshire a greener place.”

He added: “The staff also deserve a special thank you for their amazing displays that make everyone’s visit to the tip more enjoyable.”

Grimsby and Immingham CRCs are open daily from 8am to 6pm apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Both sites are run by North East Lincolnshire Council’s waste management contractor Newlincs Development Ltd.

Grimsby CRC is in Estuary Way, Grimsby DN31 2UD. Immingham CRC is in Queens Road, Immingham DN40 1QR.
