This fantastic outcome follows the latest full inspection earlier this year of North East Lincolnshire Council’s children’s services, which were rated ‘Good’ overall and ‘Outstanding’ for leadership. These results highlight the strength of the council’s improvement journey and its dedication to providing safe, nurturing environments where children in our care can thrive.
The council remains committed to expanding its children’s homes provision, with plans to open more children’s homes across North East Lincolnshire to ensure children in our care can remain close to their communities, schools, and support networks.
Councillor Margaret Cracknell, Portfolio Holder for Children and Education, said:
“This ‘Good’ rating is a fantastic milestone in the improvement journey of children’s services. We’re committed to continuing this progress and building on the strong foundations already in place.
Our ambition is to ensure every child in our care has the support, stability and opportunities they deserve – and we’ll keep working to make that a reality.”
Ann-Marie Matson, Director of Children’s Services added:
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible teams working in our children’s homes.
Their dedication, compassion, and professionalism are at the heart of this achievement. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and it wouldn’t be possible without them.”
