More than £120,000 has been awarded to parish councils, village halls, sports clubs and community initiatives across East Lindsey.
The Lincolnshire Community Foundation run GRASSroots scheme, which is funded by East Lindsey District Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, has already supported hundreds of projects across South and East Lincolnshire since it began in 2023.
The grant awards demonstrate the authority’s continued support for community initiatives which bring benefits to our residents. In this round of funding a further seven projects have been supported with grants.
A total of £95,973.44 has been distributed among:
Holton le Clay Parish Council - Installation of power supply and footpath from the entrance of playing fields to a new skate park.
CHASE - Provision of training, structured sessions, sensory space equipment and support with rental costs to complete the setup of the sensory hub.
Theddlethorpe Parish Council – Costs towards purchasing a defibrillator near the village green in Theddlethorpe St. Helen.
Grimoldby and Manby Village Hall - Revitalisation of the hall including interior redecoration, exterior repainting, cleaning and repointing the guttering and roof and purchasing new chairs.
Hensell Goat Rescue Care Farm CIC – Support to build a new building so that beneficiaries have an indoor space to be creative and socialise. This new building will bring in new visitors all year round and aims to make the group more sustainable.
Welton le Marsh Parish Council – Improvements such as a new cooker and fire door to allow for the provision of hot meals at Welton le Marsh Village Hall.
London Road Sports Partnership, Louth – Construction of a brand new Padel Court, accessible to all.
Additionally, a further £24,800 has been awarded to the Sir Joseph Banks Consortium. This award has been made possible through efficiency savings realised in the management of current UKSPF contracts.
The funding will go towards training for local residents in land-based studies with a guaranteed job interview with employers as part of a pilot ‘skills bootcamp’ style scheme.
This brings the total amount of funding allocated from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to £120,773.44.
Councillor Steve Kirk, Portfolio Holder for the coastal economy, said: “I’m thrilled to see such a diverse and inclusive range of projects benefiting from the latest round of GRASSroots funding — especially those that reach deep into our smaller and rural communities.
“Being able to allocate a staggering £120,773.44 in funding to the local community for their projects demonstrates our commitment to supporting our residents in what matters to them.
“Each initiative reflects our shared ambition - to make East Lindsey an even better place to live, work and visit.
“Our area thrives on strong community spirit, and these projects showcase the remarkable power of local collaboration.
“I look forward to witnessing the lasting impact this funding will have across our towns and villages.”
