“Hope Warriors” Parkinson’s Support Group

A new friendly Parkinson’s support group is launching in North Hykeham to bring people together for friendship, encouragement and practical support.

Hope Warriors has been set up by Karen, a Lincolnshire resident who is living with Parkinson’s and is passionate about ensuring that no one faces the condition alone. Karen also shares her journey online through her YouTube channel, Kaz My Life with Parkinson’s, where she offers honest insights into day-to-day life with the condition.

The group will meet every fourth Monday of the month at:

The Ark, Moor Lane, North Hykeham, Lincoln
1:30pm – 3:30pm
Starting on 23rd February

Hope Warriors aims to provide a warm and welcoming space where people living with Parkinson’s, as well as family members and carers, can meet others, make new friends, enjoy a cuppa and homemade cakes, and receive support and advice in an informal setting.

Karen said:

“Living with Parkinson’s can sometimes feel isolating, but no one should feel they have to manage it alone. Hope Warriors is about friendship, understanding and supporting one another. Whether you’ve been newly diagnosed or have been living with Parkinson’s for years, everyone is welcome.”

The group is proudly supported by BMOT (Beverley Maw Occupational Therapy), who have supported Karen over the past 12 months. Their involvement helps ensure attendees can also access informed guidance and reassurance in a relaxed, community environment.

Both Karen and Beverley are available for interviews or to answer any questions.
