New joinery equipment has been donated to a Grantham friendship group as part of a developer’s social value commitment working with South Kesteven District Council SKDC.

The two essential tools donated by Lindum Group construction are now with the Dysart Park-based Men in Sheds group, alongside a hamper of teas, coffee and biscuits - made from social enterprises - to keep them refreshed while they work.

Men in Sheds provides a welcoming space where individuals can connect, share skills, and work on meaningful projects – helping combat isolation and promote wellbeing.

Members will soon visit Lindum’s joinery workshop at the Lincoln business park as part of the community support initiative.

Lindum Managing Director Darren King said: "Giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to support such a fantastic initiative. We know that small gestures can make a big impact and we’re looking forward to meeting the Men in Sheds again soon.”

The equipment provided is a Charnwood W316P package deal morticer complete with four chisels, plus a Lumberjack oscillating bobbin spindle sander.

SKDC’s New Build Project Officer Suniel Pillai said: “This community support has come about through the Council’s links with Lindum at our projects to bring affordable housing at Swinegate in the centre of Grantham and to build a new waste depot on the edge of town at Turnpike Lane.

“The Men in Sheds produce some great quality items at their workshop – including public benches, wildlife boxes, bird tables and bespoke joinery projects.

“Lindum are also working with Grantham West Academy to offer careers information and visits to their HQ as we build on our partnerships within South Kesteven.”

Stephen Featherstone, Chair Grantham Men's Shed, said: "We would very much like to thank Lindum for their donation to the Grantham Men's Shed of a mortice machine and Robin sander which will help us such a lot, making life a lot easier. Also for the donation of coffee, tea and biscuits, which will fuel us in our projects."
