Working with NBV Enterprise Solutions, South Holland District Council is hosting workshops for all those thinking of starting their own business, helping them to develop the skills they need to be successful.
From bookkeepers and beauticians to cupcake bakers and care agencies, the course will help and support those dreaming of starting their own business with a fantastic, free package of training and funding.
Held at the Council’s Priory Road offices in Spalding, those who attend will undergo a three day course including a two day workshop with business trainers, followed by one day devoted to developing a bespoke business plan.
The course will offer the opportunity to meet with other aspiring entrepreneurs taking the first steps in their own businesses, and also to benefit from the expertise of NBV, a company with over 30 years’ experience in the area.
There will also be opportunities to learn about the additional support that can be provided to businesses that are up and running; including advice, workshops, networking, office facilities and much more.
Week 1: Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November
This intensive two-day workshop will be led by an experienced business trainer who will teach attendees the nuts and bolts of starting and running their own successful business including: what skills are needed to run a business, the importance of business planning, how to market their business, understanding opportunities and risks and how to manage money in a business.
Week 2: Thursday 14 November
This day will cover the creation of a business plan, the all-important ‘road map’ for any business. This interactive full day session will cover he component parts of the business plan, how to ask the right questions, the importance of comprehensive market research, how to calculate start-up costs and how to develop realistic financial projections.
