A Lincolnshire couple are the very first residents to move into the newly completed Carrington Gardens – a luxury development delivered by Keystone Developments for over-55s in the sought-after village of Humberston.
Victor and Patricia Bates, aged 74 and 72, are the first to be given keys to one of the completed properties on the site: a two-bedroom detached home especially designed for low-maintenance with minimal requirements for upkeep.
The couple, who sold their home of 18 years in the coastal town of Sutton-on-Sea earlier this year, say they are looking forward to spending 2018 in their new home.
We made the decision to start looking for a new place to live when the upkeep of our previous home became a little bit too much for us. We had a three-bedroom bungalow with a big rear garden and we found we were spending most of our time focusing on maintaining the house. By the time we had done everything we needed to do, we had little time and energy left to do any of the activities we wanted to do.
The process to move into our new home was very straightforward. We found out about the development online, went for a viewing of the site and then put a reservation on one of the properties. We’ve moved to Carrington Gardens a little over a month ago and are very happy with it. We’re in a beautiful bungalow with a big patio on the back – perfect for us.
Chris Parkinson, corporate sales manager at Keystone Developments, said:
