Following the belting success of the Easter Weekender at Lincoln Castle, which saw 15,000 food and drink fans descend into the grounds, Chow Down returns with the Summer Weekender from the 28th-30th June.

With a sumptuous line-up of indie food, live music and children’s entertainment, Lincoln Castle will be celebrating the second weekend of summer in style. From Gambian delicacies to Sicilian street food, here’s the trader line-up:

  • Chicken Little – Fried chicken and inspired dishes from around the world, served out of an unmissable bright orange tuk tuk.

  • Greek – Classic Greek street food offering gyros, sharing platters and more.

  • Belgian Waffle Tuk Tuk – Luxury waffles with decadent toppings served from a converted tuk tuk.

  • wAgyu Lookin At? – Serving up epic Yorkshire Wagyu Burgers and dirty sides from their 1980’s food truck.

  • The Hungry Actor – a new street food venture from actor Robert Luckay, serving up irresistible savoury Blinis.

  • Taste of Gambia – Authentic Gambian food, from Benachin (a classic one-pot rice dish) to an inspired Chicken Chow Mein.

  • Dapur Malaysia –  Beautiful Malaysian dishes inspired by flavours from mum’s kitchen.

  • The Middle Feast – Middle Eastern inspired kebabs and mezzê, from spit roasted lamb shawarma to chicken shish kebabs and everything in between.

  • Knaves Kitchen – Down and dirty vegan food. Knaves Kitchen serves up guilty eats… with a conscience.

  • Froconut – Plant-based coconut ice-cream, with a choice of flavours and a tempting collection of indulgent toppings.

  • Barneys Churros – Lincoln local, family run, churro extraordinaires with organic produce and fairtrade chocolate.

  • POCO – Authentic Sicilian street food, featuring pizza slices, classic arancini and Sicilian roast chicken.

  • Fat Annies – Hand-crafted sausages, artisan breads and homemade pickles and relishes providing a unique, unbeatable hot dog experience.

  • Lekker Eat Dutch – Authentic Dutch street food, think mini pancakes, belgium waffles, shakes and classic Dutch snacks.

There’s also a collection of craft beer, spirits and soft drinks and even a prosecco van, serving up all varieties of cocktails.

Aside from the grub, Chow Down also has a stellar music line-up for the weekend. Lincoln Soul Club will be returning for a friday night takeover, bringing their ‘nice people dancing to good soul music’ mantra to the castle once again, with Manchester natives and Chow Down residents Soul Boutique, soundtracking the Saturday, fresh from their appearance at Parklife Festival. ‘Lincoln’s best kept secret’ Barefoot Vinyl will be joining us for a full day session on Sunday, bringing a collective of Lincolnshire DJs along to showcase their sets.
