Bespoke Kitchens & Bedrooms: Consult The Expert With Paul Kettleborough, Director Of Chris Sharp Cabinets

Many people think that ordering bespoke furniture is daunting, but it needn’t be if you do your preparation. The key is to do your research – there is a wealth of information available on Google and social media. Create a shortlist of companies, read the customer reviews and look at their work; identify what styles and finishes you like and what you don’t like – that’s just as important! Next look at your room and think about storage and where it should be. Finally have a budget in mind so the company knows what they are working with.

The following questions will help you to create your dream kitchen…

DO YOU PROVIDE A HOME CONSULTATION AND IS THIS FREE OF CHARGE?

Yes, our external designer will visit you in your home to conduct a preliminary measure and plan out the kitchen using 3D rendering software. This is provided at no obligation.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SET A REALISTIC BUDGET AT THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?

During the initial consultation in the showroom you will be shown all manner of options so it’s therefore useful for our designers to be made aware of any budget requirements – as this will enable us to steer you away from any items that may put us over your project cost.

As we can offer a fully bespoke service, creating whatever units you require, It is difficult to give you an idea of cost at the initial consultation, that’s why we recommend taking advantage of our no obligation, free home design service.

ARE PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE?

Absolutely, we have finance options available.

WHAT ARE THE KEY STAGES OF THE PROCESS?

The customer journey usually starts with an initial showroom consultation, where you can get a feel for the products and services on offer before arranging a home design appointment.

Our External Designer, Kevin, will arrange a time to visit you at home and begin the process, after which you will receive a comprehensive quotation. If this is accepted, there is usually a second design appointment at the showroom to finalise colour schemes, styles and appliances. At this point we would ask for a 25% deposit with the order to secure the fit and delivery dates.

Approximately 4 weeks before the delivery/installation date our Design Manager, James, will contact you to conduct the final measure and go through specific kitchen details. You’ll also be introduced to the
Project Coordinator, Dan, who will take over the
process and keep you informed every step of the way.
A second payment of 25% is then required and production begins in our state of the art, Lincolnshire-based factory.

Your old kitchen will be removed and the new one installed by our dedicated teams. Other works will be arranged around this depending on your individual requirements. Once the project is completed, I will pay you a visit to make sure you’re fully satisfied. Once you are, the final balance is due and your guarantee begins.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL TIMESCALE AND CAN WE IDENTIFY ONE FOR MY PROJECT?

It depends on project requirements: a simple kitchen refit can take as little as three days. If we need to replace flooring, re-plaster, or knock out walls – it will take longer. A rough timescale will be advised during the home consultation, which will then be confirmed later in the process.
