Great weather and good business for Alford Craft Market Summer Festival.
A great time was had by everyone this year, including visitors, stallholders, and performers!
This three day event has been one of the biggest and best in recent years according to feedback given to the organisers.
Numbers were up on last year, due largely to the very successful Alford’s Indian Summer event run on the Saturday by a group of the town’s shopkeepers, in which the shops, the Craft Market and the Manor House enthusiastically took part.
A troupe of Bollywood Dancers performed twice at the Craft Market on Saturday afternoon and went on to appear at the Corn Exchange Bollywood Ball later that day.
The Earth Bound Misfits surprised and delighted everyone with their stunning acts of bravery and mischief, the Punch and Judy man wowed young and old audiences with his traditional scary but comic routine, and Banjo Bob played the old favourites from Dylan to Denver, with his own brand of home spun philosophy and fun.
For the second year the outdoor Music Stage was voted a great success with local bands and an open mike every afternoon.
Alford Morris, always a favourite with visitors, brought four more teams with them and came to dance at the Market twice on Sunday.
With many more craft stalls than last year there was plenty to look at and buy and the traders reported an excellent weekend’s business.
