There are exciting new plans that would see one of the biggest ever JCB young driver zones including a large truck for pedal diggers, a huge JCB slide and scaffold themed climbing frames.
If the plans for the £1 million diggerland themed play centre are approved, it will see the biggest ever JCB young driver zones with many other pieces of unique interactive play equipment.
The plans have been submitted for Springfields Outlet Shopping Centre in Spalding and will see the creation of 40 jobs. JCB have said that they know the site and location well, and are confident that it will be a real hit with young families from all over the region of Lincolnshire.
The JCB zone recreates a miniature village and construction site and will contain everything from the health and safety briefing classroom for budding operators through to a large track and building site where children can experience both fun and educational play.
It is an exciting prospect and a great deal of thought and time has gone into designing the zone which will give young JCB fans a fantastic outdoor space to explore whether driving, building, climbing or sliding.
Along with introducing a new JCB Young Driver Zone, the proposed improvements to the leisure offering at Springfields will also see a new High Top Hobbit Village wooden climbing and play facility created. Further changes will see a new sheltered infant sand play and seating area.
Springfields would also be host to what is believe to be Lincolnshire’s only gold panning activity area. The proposed new centre will be situated within the Festival Gardens at Springfields and will be accessed via the existing Craft Café.
The Craft Café building itself will be refurbished to house a new American-style diner along with the refurbishment of the popular Jurassic themed Dinosaur miniature golf course. The improvements will further support the objectives of the Springfields Horticultural Society, by attracting visitors to the adjacent Springfields Festival Gardens, which are run by the society.
It is thought that the exciting changes that are taking place to the leisure facilities at Springfields will help it to strengthen their position as Lincolnshire’s leading outlet centre. Getting JCB on board is a major coup for the area, in the face of increasing competition elsewhere.
Springfields is constantly seeking to improve their overall offer for people of all ages with outlets such as M&S, Next and Gao, beautiful gardens, water taxi, miniature train and golf. Over the last two years, they have attracted some excellent new retailers to Spalding, alongside a major refurbishment of the garden centre with a wish to modernise the leisure offer.
