North East Lincolnshire Council and its partner ENGIE have now completed work to install 32 new machines in 13 car parks across the borough.

The new machines are equipped to allow debit and credit card payments, including contactless payment, as well as the more traditional payment method of coins.
The machines will also be equipped ready to accept the new £1 coin when it enters circulation in March 2017.

The new pay and display parking machines have been installed at:

  • Garden Street
  • Duchess Street
  • North Prom
  • High Street
  • St. Peters Avenue
  • Yarra Road
  • Wardall Street
  • Cleethorpes Boating Lake
  • Thrunscoe Land
  • Cartergate
  • Market Roof
  • Cleethorpes Leisure Centre

Councillor David Watson, portfolio holder for the environment, said:

The new machines are fantastic, and will see an end to standing in the rain whilst digging through your pockets for the right change.
The machines will certainly make life easier for local residents and those visiting the area.
Work to replace the machines started in the summer and also saw some of the machines relocated to more suitable locations.
