Lincs agencys’ agricultural teams strengthened

Camilla Shipley, agricultural surveyor at Pygott & Crone’s Sleaford office, has recently qualified as a fellow of the CAAV having completed a gruelling set of examinations based on her practical, academic and professional experiences in the industry.

PYGOTT & Crone, Lincolnshire’s leading estate agency, has further strengthened its rural division with one of its agricultural team gaining a Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) fellowship.

Camilla Shipley, agricultural surveyor at Pygott & Crone’s Sleaford office, has recently qualified as a fellow of the CAAV having completed a gruelling set of examinations based on her practical, academic and professional experiences in the industry.

A fellow is a professionally qualified adviser, specialising in agricultural and rural matters, which requires a minimum of two years’ worth of experience and passing a stringent set of examinations – which include written, practical and oral exams.

Camilla, who joined Pygott & Crone in 2014 having graduated from Royal Agricultural College with a degree in Rural Land Management said:

The CAAV final examination has a reputation of being extremely difficult,”

The exams are sat nationally at a selection of different examination centres across the country and comprises three papers over two days, with an intense final day interview. The failure rate is relatively high – of the 176 candidates who applied to sit the examinations just 69 passed so I’m incredibly proud to have qualified and look forward to putting what I’ve learnt into practice.

Pygott & Crone has a dedicated seven-strong agricultural team, handling regular farm and land sales, machinery and plant sales as well as offering agricultural planning and development services – advising farmers on how to make best use of their assets.

Kevin Scrupps, senior partner at Pygott & Crone, said:

We’re very pleased with Camilla’s well-deserved success. As a business, we attach great importance to professional standards and staff in all departments are encouraged and supported when they study for their various qualifications.

Camilla is the latest in a line of Pygott and Crone’s professional employees to become qualified in their specialist field and I look forward to seeing her continue to add value to our agricultural division.

Pygott & Crone has recently been named as Relocation Agent Network (RAN) Agent of the Year – RAN is an estate agent body which hand selects its members based on quality of service, local knowledge and professionalism to create a UK-wide network of accredited agencies, referring relocating clients to one another. The award-winning agency is also celebrating its 25th birthday this year – now employing more than 130 staff across its 11 offices across Lincolnshire.
