I’m really pleased to be working with St Marks and Maplin to help offer some home security advice, especially as October is National Home Security Month.
I’m sure most of us are aware of the basics of home security but it never hurts to just remind people. Home is where you are your family spending most of your time and crime committed in or around your home can be some of the most disturbing, which is why simple, basic precautions can help deter opportunistic thieves.
They are common sense really and include things like making sure your doors and windows are locked and secure, using timers for lights and radios for hours of darkness when a burglar might be looking for an empty house, considering fitting an approved burglar alarm system, not leaving valuables or spare keys on display.
They are just some examples and there are many other steps that can be taken to improve home security. I’m looking forward to meeting with customers to discuss them further, and also asking people to visit our website for some further advice and tips.
Valerie Johnson, Centre Manager commented:
