A warm welcome was received by new residents Graham and Susan Driver when they moved into Larkfleet Homes development, The Croft at Baston.
Local shop owner Jonathan Walker goes out of his way to welcome new people to the village. As part of this tradition he delivers a welcome box which includes information on the village services and organisations, plus a bottle of wine, a voucher for the local pub and other locally sourced goodies.
New residents are now arriving fast at the Larkfleet Homes lifestyle development at The Croft. Aimed at those aged 55 years and over The Croft is proving popular and properties are selling quickly. Mr and Mrs Driver are the most recent residents to arrive at this new community and were delighted by their welcome.
Mr Driver said:
What a lovely welcome to our new home and The Croft community. We are incredibly happy with our new Larkfleet home in Baston, so the pack is a lovely additional surprise and a great idea. I would like to thank Jonathan for making us feel so at home.
Jonathan Walker, owner of Baston Post Office and Stores, added:
I am delighted to help welcome Mr and Mrs Driver to our community.
I started delivering the welcome packs a while ago now and they have always been very well received. When you are new to an area it is helpful to know what is on and what the various services are on offer. You feel settled much more quickly and I hope Mr and Mrs Driver feel the same benefit.
Helen Hick, director of Larkfleet Group, added:
The properties here are filling up fast and we have been delighted with the feedback from our new home owners. The welcome box is a great idea! It really makes a difference to our new residents at The Croft and makes them feel very welcome to their new home and to the village.
