Action for Children’s Disability Lincolnshire service (based in Lincoln) is teaming up with The World of Eric Carle™ on Saturday 28 March 2015 to host a ‘Giant Wiggle’ to celebrate the UK’s best-selling children’s book, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar™’.
The sponsored event at Spalding’s St Thomas’s Road Methodist Church will bring together under-fives from the county to wiggle along in giant caterpillar conga lines, encouraging them to help others, and feeding their imaginations through storytelling and creative activities.
Jane Tarrant, children’s services practitioner at Action for Children’s Disability Lincolnshire service, said: “’The Very Hungry Caterpillar™’ is a firm favourite at our centre so we’re really excited to be hosting a Giant Wiggle.
We want to celebrate Eric Carle’s beloved book by encouraging our children to get active and have fun. All funds raised will help Action for Children continue to support vulnerable children, young people and families in the heart of communities in Lincolnshire, and across the UK.
Action for Children provides early years child development, learning and childcare services to thousands of tots throughout the UK, through its children and family centres.
In March 2014, more than 32,000 children from nearly 800 schools and nurseries took part in The Giant Wiggle, raising £80,000 for Action for Children.
