We will get our 40th year off to a ‘cracking’ start with our popular annual Easter Bank Holiday Market.
This four day indoor event will be held in the comfort of the Corn Exchange building, which is in the Market Place right in the centre of Alford Town, it will take place on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Easter Monday opening from 10am until 4pm on each day and entrance to the event is absolutely free!
Among the talented artisans who will be offering their quality works for sale at this event will be jewellery makers and silversmiths, batik and felt artists, ceramacists and potters, textile and glass artists, there will be artists who work in oil paints and driftwood, makers of traditional wooden toys, teddy bears and characterful cats, wood turners, decoupage, fudge makers and more.
In addition to our wonderful artisans, this year we will also be giving our visitors the chance to get creative with a variety of Easter themed crafting activities.
Alison Martin from Yellow Belly Crafts will be with us on all four days hosting ‘eggciting’ Easter Egg painting sessions for accompanied children who can ‘eggspress’ their artistic side with this tradional Easter activity. On Easter Saturday Gay Crawford will be joining in with sessions demonstrating how to create your own Victorian style cards and still on the Easter theme how to make super cute pom-pom chicks! If you have ever fancied having a go at ‘Willow Weaving’ we will have Jessica Notley on hand to share her extensive knowledge and teach some of her skills on Easter Monday.
There will be a selection of refreshments available for our visitors to enjoy, toilets and wheelchair access.
Whatever the weather brings us this Easter Bank Holiday come to our event, meet the artists who put their skills into making what they offer for sale, shop in comfort for original, locally made, quality items whether it is a gift you are looking for, or a treat for yourself. Bring the children for some ‘Eggy’ fun or get creative yourself!! Help us celebrate 40 years of bringing crafts and people together.
