A southern Lincolnshire vineyard is celebrating its second successful crop of fresh grapes which have grown despite the poor weather, allowing the farmers to produce their own distinctive wine.
Fulbeck Gardens Vineyard, located at Fulbeck Farms near Grantham , was planted in 2010 by Andrew and Ronnie Ownsworth, with the help of their friends and family. From here, six varieties of grapes are grown; three red and three white.
Ronnie and Andrew have already created their first wine, a rosé, which has generated a lot of interest. Now, the second crop of high sugar grapes means Andrew and Ronnie are making a select batch of new wine, which is being entered into a regional wine competition.
Fulbeck Farms also produce Ownsworth’s Rapeseed Oil, wheat and barley from their farm, and have a fully refurbished detached self-catering cottage situated along a country road next to the walled garden vineyard available for 3, 4 or 7 night stays.
