The North of Lincolnshire are preparing to elect their Young Mayor and Member of Youth Parliament and are looking for candidates.

The youth elections take place every two years. The last election in February 2015 saw Kian Borg-Jackson from the South Axholme Academy elected as Young Mayor and William McCullion from the Axholme Academy, was elected as Member of Youth Parliament (MYP).

The Young Mayor works alongside other members of the Youth Council and represents the views and interests of young people.

The Member of Youth Parliament for North Lincolnshire will represent our area on the UK Youth Parliament.

To be eligible to stand at the next youth election you must be ages between 11 and 17 (or 25 if you have an additional need) and either love, work or go to school or college in the North of Lincolnshire. Candidates will be expected to become members of the North Lincolnshire Youth Council.

The deadline for applications for election is Friday 7th October.

Voting will take place between 30th January and 10th February 2017.
