The first cohort of students completed their GCSE and Key Stage 5 studies this year and the results for their Level 3 BTEC for Engineering, Applied Science and Business Studies have been returned.

One hundred per cent of students in the engineering department achieved one or more distinction grades, or higher on the BTEC Level 3 Engineering Subsidiary Diploma and Diploma qualifications. Forty per cent of students on the diploma course achieved the highest grades.

The Extended Project Diploma course, which is equivalent to three A Levels saw eighty eight per cent of students get one or more distinction grades.

The staff have stated their pride in their students and that the results of their students is the greatest achievement in their professional careers. They described their time at UTC as exciting and the results have made for an ultimate reward for all of the hard work put in by staff and students.

In Applied Science, students studied the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma which is equivalent to three A Levels. Eighty six per cent of students achieved at least one distinction grade, with forty three per cent getting the highest grades.

The students at UTC have worked very hard during the course and the amazing results have secured their places to study at University.

These students are engineers and scientists and will put their business skills to work when they enter employment or apprenticeships. Setting up the new Lincoln UTC College was a huge challenge and the team of staff and students were more than happy to take on that challenge and achieve success in their chosen careers.
