More than 600 traders will descend on the Lincolnshire Showground this month, as organisers prepare for the biggest Show to date.
Taking place on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June, the Lincolnshire Show promises something to suit all ages and tastes as it welcomes exhibitors and traders from as far as Australia for the two day extravaganza.
The 600 traders and exhibitors will be showcasing their latest products from handbags to hot tubs, mowers to muck spreaders and combines to candles – plus much more.
CEO Jayne Southall for the Lincolnshire Showground is pleased that so many traders are keen to trade at this year’s Show.
The influx of traders wanting to showcase at the Show is fantastic and this seems to be growing year on year. We always enjoy highlighting the best of Lincolnshire and the brilliant local SMEs that make this region thrive and we’re especially looking forward to seeing our Grow with the Show winners, Mantle. The Show brings all these traders together plus businesses from further afield in one place for everyone to enjoy.
The Show saw record-breaking visitors across the two days last year and we hope to have another great year. We look forward to welcoming returning traders and showing our new traders what the Show has to offer.
With everything from cooking demonstrations to live entertainment, livestock and equine shows and plenty of shopping – this is not an event to be missed.
A number of businesses will be celebrating important anniversaries at the Show in 2016. B&B Tractors has now been trading for 25 years while Ocean Designs will be hitting the ten year milestone this year.
Among them is Witham Oil and Paint Ltd who will be celebrating its 95th anniversary. Group managing director and trader at the Show, Nigel Bottom, will be joined by his father and this year’s Show president, Geoff Bottom, as the family business marks the milestone.
Nigel Bottom said:
We have been involved in exhibiting at the Lincolnshire Show for many years and my father has been going to the show for 65 years. I am proud of my father for being asked to be the Show president as we are loyal supporters of the Lincolnshire Show, the agricultural industry and the wider local community and have been for many years.
The Witham business started out in 1921 making cycle oil and candles and as the demand for lubricants and machinery grew, so did our business. We work very closely with the farmers and local agricultural and haulage businesses and over the years have applied our products to many industries, from marine to plant hire, motor cars to vintage vehicles.
Many of the exhibitors and attendees are customers and we are proud to be celebrating our 95th year of trading at this year’s show. We will have displays of machinery that use either our oil or paint and we will be trying to make the pieces as unusual as possible. It’s a time for us to say thank you to all our customers as well as hopefully keeping everyone up to date with our latest products and services.
Advanced tickets are on sale until midnight on Monday 20 June at £19 for adults, children are £6 and under-fives go free. Please note that booking fees may apply. Tickets will also be available on the day at £23 for adults, £7 for children, and under-fives go free. Car parking is free on both days.
Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of fantastic membership and hospitality opportunities at the Showground. Becoming a member of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society will provide entrance to the Show on both days plus VIP access to the member’s area and special discounts throughout the year at other Showground events.
