Elmer Day is a national celebration of popular children’s character Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.

To celebrate the first ever National Elmer Day on Saturday 28 May, Lincs Inspire Arts Development and Libraries will be holding Elmer Story times and activities throughout the morning at Lincs Inspire Libraries and have created four wire Elephants that will be displayed in each Library!

Local schools and nurseries have been invited to help celebrate National Elmer day by encouraging children to make their own brightly coloured patches that will be attached to the Elephants at their local branch library.

The patches will be brightly coloured and made from a variety of materials such as paper, card, fabric and plastic carrier bags.

The finished elephants will be revealed at each Lincs Inspire Library on Saturday 28th May, where there will be Elmer themed activities taking place during the morning.

The activities, which will run from 10am to 12 noon, are suitable for children aged 0 to 6 and their families or carers. Entry is free.
