Armed Forces Day takes place on Saturday 25th June 2016, it’s sure to be a spectacular event with celebrations beginning on Monday 20th June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country.
North East Lincolnshire hosts an Armed Forces Day every year, but 2016 is going to top them all. With more and more people turning out to the event every year, this year is going to be a special one as Cleethorpes is hosting The National Event with thousands of other local events taking place across the country.
Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. Cleethorpes will be full with family fun, open air performances and parades throughout the weekend, with musicians and entertainers on Saturday (Armed Forces Day).
Military demonstrations will attract visitors from far and wide with the Red Arrows from RAF Scampton appearing along with Battle of Britain Memorial Flights, parachute displays from The Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Black Cats helicopter display.
There is an endless array of displays, shows and markets to keep everyone entertained. Military vehicles including the Sandown class Mine Countermeasures Vessel HMS Blyth and the AS90 artillery tank and Warrior and Terrier armoured vehicles on the Boating Lake.
