Find out how you can grow tasty fruit and vegetables without having a garden!
Come find out more about straw bale gardening with Simon Gibbins on the Sunday 9th August, who will be on hand to give advice and talk about this interesting and inventive method.
Simon Gibbons said:
Reading the gardening magazines, it occurred to me that there was not an awful lot of time given to people who don’t have a garden.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a garden, but with this method you can grow produce almost anywhere, patio, drive etc. You don’t necessarily need soil. Certainly you can grow veg in containers, but I thought there must be something more out there.
So I delved deeper…
And found that it is possible to grow tasty vegetables and fruit in straw bales. It is very popular in America but not so here. I have been experimenting for some years now to adapt it to the UK climate, and while no gardener can know everything, I feel I can pass on what I have learned.
Simon will be at the Natural World Centre on Sunday 9 August from 10am to 4pm for free drop in sessions. There’s no need to book just pop in and say hello!
There’s plenty more happening at the Natural World Centre including exciting exhibitions and creative summer holiday activities for children!
